PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Anthelminic Syrup as Single Dose Worm Treatment.
COMPOSITION:
Levmisole HCI B.P
INDICATION:
For treatment of Round Worm, Thread worm & Mixed infestation
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
It acts by stimulating ganglia of the worm which results in tonic paralysis of the worms.
DOSAGE:
Children between 1-4 Years:
1 spoonful of 5ml
Children between 5-15 Years.
2 spoonful of 5ml
Adults:
3 spoonfuls of 5 ml or as directed by the doctor.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant administration of ether, chloroform and tetra-chloroethylene.
Paediatrics: safe
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Elderly: Safe.
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Nausea, epigastric discomfort, insomnia, agranulocytosis, dizziness, weakness and drowsiness.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Higher than recommended doses of levamisole may be associated with increased incidence of agranulocytosis.
INTERACTION:
Alcohol: Levemisole may produce disculfiram like effects with alcohol. Phenylon Co-administration with levamisole and fluorouracil results in increased serum phenytoin levels.
