Fungnil-v.(Clotrimazole Vaginal Tablets U.S.P)
Broad spectrum Fungicide and Trichomonacide
Each uncoated tablet contains: Clotrimazole U.S.P 100mg.
Properties: Fungil-v is abroad-spectrum antifungal agent that inhibits growth of pathogenic yeasts.
Indication:
Vaginits due to fungi, mainly candida and / or Trichomonas.Infection of leucorrhoea and super infection with bacteria sensitive to Fungnil-v, Gram positive –Streptococci / Staphylococci and Gram negative-bacteroides / Haemophilus Vaginails.
Contraindication
Contraindications: Hypersentivity to any of the components of the preparation.
Adverse Reaction:
Tolerence is excellent and no systemic effects are seen with tropical use. Rarely patients may experience local mild burning or irritation immediately after inserting the vaginal tablets. In case of irritation being intolerable, It is advisable to discontinue the medication.
Use In Pregnancy
There have been no harmful effects to both mother and child on the use of Fungnil-V. vaginal tablets as shown in by may experimental and clinical studies. It may be used for the purpose of sanitation of birth canal during last 4-6 weeks of pregnancy.
Dosage and Administration
The recommended dose is one tablet a day for six consecutive days or two tablets a day for three consecutive days preferably at bed time. For pregnant patients, It is advisable to go for a six day course.
The relapse of vaginal candidiasis occurring shortly after initial treatment requires a long course of treatment such as one fungnil-v tablet inserted vaginally daily for 12 days, increased, if necessary to 2 tablets daily for 12 days. Candidal vulvitis and candidal balenitis are usally cured witin 1-2 weeks. Treatment should be timed properly so as to avoid menstrual period and to be completed before the onset of menstruation.
Pack, Storage, Caution and Important Note :
Pack: Strip of 6 tablets with application in a cartion.
